A teenage boy has been flown to hospital fighting for life, after getting struck by a car near Gympie.
The 14-year-old was crossing Tin Can Bay Road at Canina around 3.45pm yesterday, when he was struck by a Hyundai i30.
He suffered a serious head injury and was flown by helicopter to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old woman, was not physically injured.
Tin Can Bay Road was closed for investigations until approximately 7pm.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating, with officers asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam and was travelling on Tin Can Bay Road around 3.45pm to contact police.
