Three girls have been charged, accused of torturing another teen at a Tewantin home.
Police allege a 13-year-old girl was invited into a property on Saturday March 11, but was subsequently prevented from leaving, and allegedly filmed while being assaulted, taunted and cut with a knife over several hours.
Investigations led police to charge three girls, aged 12, 13 and 14, on March 13.
All three are facing various offences including assault occasioning bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed in company, deprivation of liberty, and armed robbery whilst in company used personal violence.
The 14-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to face Maroochydore Childrens Court again next month.
The two younger girls are due to re-appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court later this month.
Police are appealing for people not to share any images or vision relating to this incident that surfaces on social media, “out of respect for the victim and to not add to the notoriety of those involved.”
Investigations are ongoing.
