A woman has died and two others have been injured in separate incidents on the same day at Mount Beerwah.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Saturday after the woman, aged in her 20s, fell 40 metres onto rocks on the eastern side of the mountain.
She died at the scene.
While a 52-year-old man fell 30 metres after a parachute incident.
He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious head, leg and chest injuries.
A third person, a 30-year-old man, fell 10 metres and was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with a shoulder injury.
Sunshine Coast Operations Supervisor Leighton Allen says people need to take care while on the mountain.
“The conditions can be quite rugged and any incident that happens is going to take a long time, so that impact on our resources is quite significant.
“By all means, enjoy the outdoors, but just stay safe that’s all we can say. Be prepared, stay safe,” he says.
