The man who police allege caused the crash which killed three people on the Bruce Highway at Federal has been charged with three counts of murder.
25 year-old Yandina man, Rafferty Raymond Rolfe, is alleged to have been driving a stolen four wheel drive at the time of the crash early on Friday morning.
Police allege he was chasing and ramming a vehicle driven by 65 year-old Mackay man, Terry Bishop, who had earlier picked up Rolfe’s 25 year-old partner, Gypsy Satterley, from the side of the road.
It’s alleged their vehicle was forced into oncoming traffic and crashed into a car driven by 38 year-old Imbil woman Jessica Townley .
All three died.
Mr Rolfe remains under police guard in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
His case is expected to be heard in the Maroochydore Magistrate’s Court
