It comes after SES crews combed parkland today, near where she was thought to be heading when she was last seen on Wednesday night, in case she had been hurt or became lost.
Earlier: Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 12-year-old girl reported missing from Birtinya last night.
The girl was last seen leaving a property in the suburb around 6.45pm on February 7, and has not made contact with family since.
She is described as Caucasian, approximately 165 centimetres tall, with brown, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with red lines on the front, black shorts and no shoes.
