The Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne isn’t just about fast cars, it’s also about creativity, family fun, and bringing people together. Walking around the huge event you see multiple groups of famillies enjoying the day and taking in the atmosphere, but the thing that surprised me the most was the amount of yellow and red bags they were holding, I’m not talking about Ferrari but the popular toy, LEGO (Well, and Ferrari).

This year, Formula 1 and LEGO have teamed up to create an experience that goes far beyond the racetrack. With the LEGO Fan Zone popping up at every Grand Prix for Formula 1’s 75th Anniversary celebrations, fans of all ages are in for a treat!

The LEGO Fan Zone is a hub for family-friendly fun, packed with “Make and Take” builds, epic photo opportunities, and a full showcase of the LEGO x Formula 1 product range. It’s the ultimate chance for fans to take their love of F1 and their favourite drivers beyond the track. While classics like LEGO DUPLO and LEGO City sets are already available, everyone is buzzing about the LEGO Speed Champions and the highly anticipated LEGO F1 Collectibles launching on May 1, 2025.

But LEGO’s partnership with Formula 1 is more than just sets of bricks, it’s about building moments together. Lucas Reynoso Vizcaino, LEGO’s Global Head of Product, shared how the LEGO Builders APP is bringing families closer. Using the app, “You can decide to build as a party of two or three, everyone can build a part of the car, and then you can bring them together. It becomes a real family or friends process,” Lucas explains. An F1 car powered by teamwork? Yes, please!

Formula 1’s growing younger fanbase makes this partnership a match made in creative heaven. As the high-speed sport enters a fresh era, teaming up with LEGO, a brand built on imagination, hits all the right notes. The collaboration introduces kids (and adults!) to the thrill of F1 while inspiring hours of hands-on fun that sparks creativity, teamwork, and memories.
