The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the death of a 16 year-old boy who was hit by a car near Nambour late last night.
Initial investigations indicate that around 11:50pm, the boy was struck by a hatchback vehicle travelling along Image Flat Road.
Emergences services arrived at the scene a short time later.
The boy was taken to Nambour Hospital in a critical condition where he later died.
The 24-year-old woman driving the car was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or may have dashcam/CCTV of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
