The Sunshine Coast Lightning head into Saturday night’s super netball season opener with a local junior in line to make her debut.
19 year-old Baylee Boyd has been brought into the game day squad for the game against the Melbourne Mavericks.
Boyd replaces Leesa Mi Mi who has a minor calf injury.

Coach Belinda Reynolds said it’s exciting to see a local player make her way to the top level.
“Leesa is back at training after sustaining a minor calf injury that saw her miss Team Girls Cup, but unfortunately she’s not quite ready for this weekend,” Reynolds said.
“We didn’t want to rush her return, and I have complete faith in our medical staff who will work closely with Leesa to get her back on the court very soon.
“While it’s unfortunate to not see Leesa out there this weekend, it provides a really exciting opportunity for young gun, Baylee Boyd to potentially make her debut.
“Baylee is a Sunshine Coast local who has come through the school and Queensland pathways while living regionally on the Coast,” Reynolds said.
