A confirmed measles case is being managed by Sunshine Coast Health’s Public Health Unit.
The local resident recently returned on a flight from Vietnam and has visited a few locations while infectious.
They were on flight VJ083 from Vietnam to Brisbane on Wednesday, December 4, then at the Brisbane Airport between 10.30pm and 11.59pm.
An Uber then picked them up and drove them back to the Coast before midnight.
The person has then visited the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Emergency Room on Friday night between 6.30pm-7pm.
Sunshine Coast Health is in the process of contacting all persons who are at high risk of developing Measles.
Anyone who visited these venues at those times may have been exposed to the disease and needs to look out for symptoms.
The symptoms of measles include high temperatures, cough and a runny nose followed by a red spotty rash and sore, watery eyes a few days later.
Symptoms usually start 7-10 days after the contact with the infected person but can sometimes take as long as three weeks.
