Easter is all about chocolate. Well, it’s not really, but man I do love chocolate. What Easter is great for above anything else is the opportunity to spend time with family and with several days to reconnect with your loved ones we’ve selected the three best films to watch with all the family this Easter.  From old favourites, easter themed and even one religious focused film about the story of Christ, these are appropriate for families of all ages to sit and enjoy the long weekend.

Rise of the Guardians

“When the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth, the Immortal Guardians team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world.” That’s the synopsis of this film and I’m sure if you’ve not seen it, you might be wondering what this has to do with easter at all. Well, the Easter Bunny is one of the main characters. Rise of the Guardians is a fun action-adventure film that features characters from major western holidays and children’s stories. Including characters such as the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy and more. Oh, and did I mention Hugh Jackman is the Boomerang throwing Easter Bunny?

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

An absolute classic from the masterful stop-motion team behind Chicken Run & Shaun the Sheep. Whilst not specifically an easter film, the comedy animated film centres around Rabbits and is now listed among many other films as crucial easter viewing, and I whole heartedly agree. A fun, light-hearted adventure featuring the iconic pair of Wallace and Gromit as they try to solve the mystery of the were-rabbit that’s destroying all the vegetable crops around the town. A film that is sure to entertain both young and old, it features a star-studded English cast with Peter Sallis, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, and Mark Gatiss.

The King of Kings – New Release

This one’s for the theatre goers! The King of Kings has just released in cinemas across Australia and is the story of Jesus’ life from birth through to his ultimate sacrifice. With an absolutely stacked cast of; Oscar Isaac, Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thruman, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Hamill, Forest Whitaker and more! If you’re looking to get the kids out of the house and see a film that directly relates to the long weekend this might be the film for you!
